The charm of a bygone era and the spell of the traditions of an old country estate in Maremma, live together at Il Civettaio with modern amenities.

Il Civettaio welcomes its guests to its enclave composed by the ancient farmhouse dated back to the 1700, that houses the apartments, rooms and the Fireplace Hall, and the old stable/hay warehouse that today houses the restaurant and the cellar.

In addtion the guests can enjoy the modern swimming pool and the extensive, beautiful grounds with its vineyards, fields and woods.

The elegant renovation of the whole complex was made with a sympatetic eye to the historical and traditional details, like the original "cotto" floors, woodburning fireplaces, and woodbeamed cealings.  The furnishing is a clever mix of traditional furniture and family antiques. As much as possible "green" measures have been taken, like the installation of solar panels for the hot water supply of the estate.

Particular attention was given to the preservation of the grounds with its rich vegetation and wildlife.
Vines, olive trees, cypresses, maritime pine trees, oleanders, lavanda, rosemary and many other native plants, make each season interesting with their colors and scents. An abundant wildlife lives in the estate. Hares, deers, land turtles, pheasants, wild boars and of course owls can be spot in the property. 

The guests can relax in the Fireplace Hall, with the ancient stone fireplace, that has a TV and DVD player or can sit at the tables under the pine trees and take in the spectacular view. 

The beautiful swimming pool (15x7 meters), open seasonally,  has sunbeds, sunchairs, amacas, and a shaded area. 

One can stroll or jog along the paths in the properties, get a visit to the estate and taste the wines, under the guidance of the Civettaio's owner and winemaker.

As a service to the guests, il Civettaio operates on request, the little restaurant Il Capriolo,  that organizes dinners and pizza nights.

Parking is available in the property and it's free.
