Area del Tufo : This area is the southern mainland part of Maremma, along the Fiora river. You can just wander without a precise destination and just feel the sensations the landscape gives you.
Everything here seems to exist only because of the Tufo rock. From the Etruscan necropolis to the Roman Tombs, from the building of the Medieval houses, roads, stables, to the modern cellars. Whole villages seems just to be born out of it with houses that appear to grow seemlessly from the rock underneath.
