CHIU' is the song of the Assiolo, a nigth bird who arrives in spring and nest on the pine trees in front of the house.
His coming give us the "bottling time" of the rose' of Civettaio.
30% Alicante and 70% Sangiovese. Fresh, elegant, very good nose - strawberry, lightly salted. Excellent as "aperitivo" , a delicious friend of light summer dishes

Civettaio wines arrived to the Finals at the Wine Competition Selezione Vini Toscani . As finalists, they were presented with the best Tuscan Wines to international buyers and press at Buywine at the Stazione Leopolda in Florence on November 25 - 26.

Il Civettaio, along the best wineries from our area. has been in Milan at Maremma Wine Shire, the expo of the wine excellences of the Maremma (Tuscany). Consumers as well as importers, buyers, journalists and opinion leaders were able to taste the best wines from Maremma. We are very proud as we received high praises for our wines (and for our new labels !) and for the farmhouse.
Civettaio - Civitella Paganico - 5/10/2010
At Il Civettaio, the grape harvest just started ! Weather has been good so far and few drizzles hasn't stop the operations. We are harvesting the Merlot and the Alicante and just a little bit of Sangiovese.
Everything proceeds as planned and our winemaker Gregorio Dell'Adami, has already put his skills at work to make our rose' , Civettaio Rosa.
It's a pity that the reader cannot smell the heavenly scents that are coming out of the cellar !!!
